SCC donates to officer protection funds

St. John Parish Sheriff Mike Tregre accepted a $2,000 check for the SJSO body armor fund from the Beta Club at St. Charles Catholic High School in LaPlace on Feb. 21.

The SCC Beta Club sold World’s Finest Chocolate to raise money for the SJSO as well as the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office ballistic vest fund.

Body armor fund donations are used to protect all officers, officials said. Anyone interested in making a donation to the SJSO Body Armor Fund is asked to call 985-652-9513.

Before the check presentation, Tregre and several fellow officers, as well as officers from the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office, also were recognized during Mass hosted by the SCC Alumni Association.
