Dec. 29, 1988:
Members of the 1988-89 East St. John High School Beta Club attended the state convention in Alexandria, where state officers are elected and various competitions are conducted.
Dec. 29, 1993: Navy Petty Officer First Class Michael Fontenot, son of Huey and Linda Fontenot of LaPlace, is climbing the military ladder of success. Fontenot is stationed in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.
