Riverside Academy third grader Shayla Cruz was recently honored by VFW Post 3337 for her winning artwork depicting a historical event as part of the VFW’s Americanism Program. Shayla won at the post and district level and also took home a second place showing at the state level. Pictured receiving her awards are, from left, Elvin Ray Bass from Post 3337 and Shayla. VFW Post 3337 will also host a third grade pizza party in Shayla’s honor.
