RESERVE — Riverside Academy senior basketball players Herb McGee and Malik Crowfield have been selected to participate in the Louisiana High School Coaches Association’s annual All-Star game.

The game between players from east of the Mississippi River and west of the Mississippi River will be played March 19 at the Bossier Parish Community College gymnasium in Bossier City.

McGee and Crowfield are both on the East roster.

Crowfield is a 6-4 guard who recently announced that he has committed to play college ball for Virginia Commonwealth University.

McGee is a 6-foot-1 guard.

“It’s an honor,” McGee said.

“I’m on the team with Malik. That’s good. I’m excited. I don’t take it for granted. All the hard work is paying off and not going unnoticed.”

Riverside coach Timmy Byrd said he is proud of his two players and the program is fortunate to have had players participate just about every year.

“These two guys are definitely two of the best in the state,” Byrd said. “It’s another honor for them in a long list of accomplishments.

“They get to go and participate and have some fun. It’s a different experience for them. How they perform isn’t really important, but I think both of these guys are capable of going up there and having a really big game.”
