Public meeting set for wastewater project feedback

RESERVE — A public hearing is set to discuss St. John the Baptist Parish’s plan to convert a wastewater retention pond to a 3 million gallon per day wastewater treatment pond.
Parish officials said the estimated construction cost of this project is $6,778,200.
The Parish has secured a U.S. EPA Grant of $1,576,909 to fund a portion of the project, and municipal bond funds for $5,201,291 from the Parish will fund the remaining portion of the project.
The purpose of the public hearing is to discuss and receive comments on these projects. Those interested can attend at 6 p.m. Wednesday at REGALA Gymnasium, 200 REGALA Park Road in Reserve.
