LUTCHER — St. James Parish Hospital representatives recently attended the Louisiana Hospital Association’s Annual Fall Conference and Pelican Awards Luncheon, securing great contacts, valuable education and six prestigious awards.

The Luncheon recognizes excellence in hospital public relations and marketing to improve the quality and effectiveness of hospital communications.

Hospitals from across the state compete in different categories for the awards, which are judged based on planning, implementation, results and creativity.

St. James Parish Hospital won six awards, which included several Pelican Awards for the hospital’s new website sjph.org and for its 2014 Beauties Beating the Odds breast cancer event.

The hospital also received a Pelican Award for its Employee Spotlight Campaign and a Certificate of Merit in the Return on Investment category for web initiatives.

“Competing and winning awards in categories with entries from the largest and most well-known hospitals in the state, makes us extremely proud. Informing our community, patients and employees is something we take very seriously,” said Kassie St. Pierre, director of marketing.

St. James Parish Hospital is a joint commission accredited, full-service facility providing quality health care to the community since 1955.
