High school football games moved to Thursday for St. John teams

LAPLACE — High School football Friday in St. John the Baptist Parish is moving to Thursday due to concerns about weather.

St. Charles Catholic High School announced two sports schedule changes, including the Comets’ final regular season football contest, which will now be played at 7 p.m. Thursday at Muss Bertolino Stadium in Kenner against Country Day.

The Lady Comets’ home volleyball playoff game against Northeast High School starts at 4 p.m. Thursday.

School officials also announced classes will begin at 9 a.m. Friday.

For East St. John High School, the Wildcats’ will host their final regular season football contest at 7 p.m. Thursday against the Central Lafourche Trojans (5-4).

East St. John is currently riding a two-game winning streak.

The Riverside Academy Rebels are entering the last game of the regular season Thursday against the Sophie B. Wright Warriors. The game will be played in Reserve.

The West St. John Rams will travel to New Orleans Thursday for their last regular season contest against the Newman High School Greenies.
