LAPLACE — A LaPlace teenager was booked Thursday on an obscenity charge after authorities said he exposed himself to two women Tuesday night.

Deputies from St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office responded to the 1500 block of Ellerslie Avenue in LaPlace at 10:15 p.m. Tuesday after a man was reported exposing himself to two women who were sitting outside a residence.

According to authorities, the women described the perpetrator as wearing a black-hooded sweatshirt and black shorts. Deputies canvassed the area after the report, but the suspect was not found.

A second call was made about the suspect Tuesday evening, and deputies returned to the Ellerslie Avenue. The caller said she saw the perpetrator near the intersection of Madewood Drive and Greenwood Drive. The woman told deputies the perpetrator had changed clothes and was wearing a red shirt and black shorts.

For the second time, deputies canvassed the area looking for the suspect but were unable to find him.

Authorities later identified the suspect as 17-year-old Harold Reginald Brown III of LaPlace.

Sgt. Dane Clement said Brown was booked Wednesday for a separate charge of unauthorized entry of an inhabited dwelling.

“While sitting in jail for his first charge, a judge signed the warrant, and Brown was booked for his second charge of obscenity on Thursday,” Clement said.

The bond for Brown’s first charge was set at $7,500 and for his second charge his bond was set for $4,000. In total Brown’s bond is $11,500.

As of press time Friday, Brown remains in jail.
