ST. ROSE — A woman was found stabbed and killed Thursday morning in St. Rose, authorities said.
St. Charles Sheriff Greg Champagne said deputies and detectives responded to a stabbing at No. 2 Summerton Drive at approximately 4:07 a.m. Thursday. There, deputies located Jayson Bynum, 30, of St. Rose in front of an apartment complex, where he was detained.
Authorities said Bynum was identified by a 911 caller as being involved in an altercation.
Champagne said deputies located Brentley Anderson, 38, of Las Vegas in a nearby apartment suffering from multiple stab wounds and non-responsive. Anderson was later pronounced dead at the scene.
Preliminary investigation revealed Anderson and Bynum were staying in the same residence and argued prior to the altercation, Champagne said.
Bynum is charged with second degree murder and is being held at the Nelson Coleman Correctional Center.
