RESERVE — Riverside Academy’s Madison Watson finds a passion in the agriculture fields of St. John the Baptist Parish.
Watson was recently crowned as the St. John the Baptist Parish Farm Bureau Queen.
Since the crowning, she has been studying the agriculture sectors to make her parish better, and she recently attended the annual Farm Bureau convention held in New Orleans.
Watson brought back great knowledge about the agricultural life in Louisiana. Being able to participate in the Farm Bureau State Pageant also allowed her to meet many girls as they spent a great deal of time discussing the special agriculture crops of each’s parishes.
Watson said she would like to see more agriculture education in the schools today. She feels children are missing out on an important education on why we survive as we do today.
Watson is a junior at Riverside Academy. She is the daughter of Andrea and Bobby Watson of Reserve.
