SCC’s Monica honored as 1 of top area football coaches

METAIRIE — The New Orleans Saints and the National Guard recently honored the 2014 NFL High School Coach of the Week recipients at Impastato’s Restaurant in Metairie.

The Saints recognize one area high school coach during each week of the regular season that embodies the principles of teamwork, commitment and excellence on the field.

Each winner received a $1,000 grant from the NFL and is visited by Saints staff and awarded a commemorative trophy and framed certificated signed by NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell, Saints Owner Tom Benson, General Manager/Executive Vice-President Mickey Loomis and Coach Sean Payton.

Coach Frank Monica, head football coach and athletic director at St. Charles Catholic HIgh School, was honored at the event.
