SJA touts Catholic Schools Week

LAPLACE — To celebrate Catholic Schools Week at St. Joan of Arc Catholic School, students enjoyed Breakfast with Moms on Tuesday and Breakfast with Dads on Thursday.
The week ended with a special Mass, after which awards were presented.
Students of the Year were selected in fifth and eighth grades based on academic achievements, spiritual development and community involvement.
Gabrielle Treas was named fifth grade Student of the Year, and Maddie Millet was named eighth grade Student of the Year.
Both students submitted portfolios to the Archdiocese of New Orleans, where they will compete with those from other schools in the Archdiocese.
The NCEA Distinguished Graduate Award was presented to Dr. Andrew and Mrs. Linette St. Martin for their continued support of and involvement in St. Joan of Arc Church and School communities.
Rodney Barber was presented the Distinguished Service Award for the six years he served as chairman of the SJA Parish Fair and for the numerous other ways he served at the school.
