LAPLACE — Thanksgiving was celebrated in a variety of ways at St. Joan of Arc.

Thanksgiving Mass was celebrated as a school with students portraying pilgrims and Indians.

A traditional Thanksgiving lunch was served by the cafeteria staff to all students. The annual SJA food drive was conducted by a joint effort of the school and church communities.

More than 50 boxes were filled for the needy of the area. Prekindergarten and kindergarten classes held Thanksgiving feasts and invited their parents, whom they entertained with Thanksgiving songs before their meal.

The students also dressed as pilgrims and Indians.

One class even shucked its own corn to eat at its feast.
