VACHERIE — St. James Parish residents interested in learning more about the parish’s 2015 budget should note a special meeting will take place at 6 p.m. Monday at the Vacherie Courthouse Annex, located at 2631 La. Hwy. 20 in Vacherie.

Angele Rodrigue, St. James Parish Council secretary, said Parish President Timmy Roussel, Council members and administrative directors will go page by page through and discuss the proposed budget. She said the public is invited to attend and listen Monday, but public comments will not be taken that night.

One chance for public comment will be at a hearing set for 6:15 p.m. Wednesday at the Vacherie Courthouse Annex. The hearing will take place directly before the regularly scheduled Council meeting.

A second public hearing and comment period is set for 6:15 p.m. Dec. 3 at the Convent Courthouse, located at 5800 River Road in Convent.

The hearing will also take place directly before the regularly scheduled Council meeting. Rodrigue said the Council will not take any action on the budget until all three meetings have taken place, adding the budget must be passed before the end of the year.
