LAPLACE — Authorities said toxicology reports were pending this week after a St. John the Baptist Parish man was found dead in the Bonnet Carre Spillway Friday morning after a reported night of partying.

Sgt. Dwayne LaGrange of the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office confirmed the identify of the man as David Scioneaux Jr., 30, of Reserve.

According to authorities, dispatchers received a call from a man at 4:30 a.m. Friday regarding an unresponsive subject in the vehicle he was in.

The caller told investigators both men ended up in the Spillway and “passed out after a night of partying,” according to LaGrange.

“The caller said he woke up and noticed his friend was unresponsive,” LaGrange said, adding the investigation has yielded no signs of foul play.
