LAPLACE — Revelation Knowledge Ministries music students recorded two songs and a created rap based on their summer music students.
They were part of LaRhonda Gaines Wilson’s third annual music camp, held July 7-11 at Revelation Knowledge Ministries, 125 Ash St. in LaPlace.
The camp ended with the students attending a music field trip to Cedar Production Recording Studio in Baton Rouge, where they recorded the music.
The rap included the names of each music camper, times tables and important music facts learned that week.
Wilson said a special thanks goes to drummer Ryan Clayton, who taught beginner drums, and Marvinlette Dorsey, who taught voice lessons.
Wilson said her goal is to recruit music students to perform at various community events and church services.
Those with children who have a passion for music, are motivated about music or have a desire to sing or play an instrument can attend a special meeting at 10 a.m. Aug. 30 or 5 p.m. Aug. 31, as Wilson will begin to offer music lessons for those interested students.
The meeting will take place at 125 Ash St. in LaPlace.
