Wake up call needed to reach lonely

God’s ministry of Get High on Life is one in which He allows me to be a laborer reaches out to a lonely and hurting world.
A few years ago, I remember a message by evangelist Billy Graham about loneliness being the biggest problem in America. The longer I live, the more I realize how serious this problem is.
Mother Teresa once said that the biggest disease she encountered wasn’t leprosy or cancer, it was the feeling of being uncared for, unwanted, deserted and alone.
I feel we underestimate the power we have to reach out with compassion to develop relationships. To the world, we are only one person. To the lonely, we could possibly change their world and make a difference.
Lonely people are isolated, unhappy and longing for a friend and a relationship what will connect them to society. Knowing the problem is one thing, but having the solution and not doing our part is considered selfish or un-Christian.
I recently read in a daily devotional that there are 1,189 chapters in the Bible – 250 containing words of the prophets. That’s a little more than 25 percent, half of which denounces sin and the other half condemns those who see human suffering and do nothing about it.
I believe there are people who are saved, going to Heaven, and comfortable in their Christian walk. They don’t get involved in any good works for the Kingdom of God. The Bible says that faith without works is dead. Maybe it’s time for some of us to wake up!
