LAPLACE – Winn-Dixie in LaPlace held its first children’s art fest recently, and store officials said they hope to make it an annual event.

Children from ages 3 to 12 years old were able to color Easter pictures, get their face painted and create vests all in the covered entryway of the store.

Store Service Lead Lauren Price said the child who decorated the best Louisiana culture-inspired vest would win an Easter basket.
