Man allegedy robs drug seekers

LAPLACE – An early morning call regarding an armed robbery during a drug deal led to the arrest of a Reserve man on Monday.
The St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office responded to a March 3 call placed at 12:06 a.m. reporting an armed robbery
that occurred on
East 20th Street in Reserve.
One of three male victims told deputies that as he was attempting to purchase marijuana from a subject on East 20th, the subject produced a black semi-automatic handgun, pointed the gun at them, and took money and cellphones from them.
The victim knew the suspect’s name as Brandon. The suspect stole $475 and two cellphones.
As deputies were conducting interviews with the victims, Brandon called one of the victims and requested to meet him near Carrollwood Drive in LaPlace.
Criminal patrol units responded to the area and located Brandon Holland, 24, of East 20th. Holland was in possession of two cellphones and $360.
Holland was arrested and booked with armed robbery and possession of a schedule IV controlled substance. He remains in custody
on parole violation and in lieu of a $253,500 bond.
