St. Charles Catholic High School recently announced the Royal Court members of the Krewe de Charles Bal Masque XXVIII, “Flying Down to Rio.”

The members of the court raised more than $50,000 for the school. The annual carnival ball will be held on Saturday, Feb. 8 at 7 p.m. in the school gymnasium. Admission is $10.

The King and Queen are Michael August Morton, son of Patrick and Tammy Morton of LaPlace and Lynleigh Angelle’ Landry, daughter of Michael and Doreen Landry of Norco.

Both the King and Queen are very active students at St. Charles Catholic High School and maintain over a 3.5 GPA. In addition to excelling academically, Morton is the SCC student body president and is vice president of both the National Honor Society and the Stagehands. He is also a member of the Beta Club, French Club, Mu Alpha Theta, retreat team, swim team and tennis team.  

Landry, while maintaining a high GPA as well, is an SCC cheerleader co-captain and secretary of the National Honor Society. Landry is also a member of the Beta Club, French Club, Student Council, retreat team, yearbook and swim team. 

Both the King and Queen recently participated in the 2014 “March for Life” held in Washington, D.C., and they are both very active in their church parishes.

Pages to the King are Cole Alan Foster, son of Brandon and Terri Foster; Andrew Thomas Ritter, son of Alan and Stephanie Ritter; and Luke Warren Ziegler, son of Scott and Mary Louise Ziegler. Pages to the Queen are Anistin Paige-Marie Murray, daughter of Paul and Cheney Murray; Bryleigh Rose Tregre, daughter of Aaron and Nicole Tregre; and Kennedy Elizabeth O’Brien, daughter of Michael and Shannon O’Brien.
