Two former band students at St. Joan of Arc Catholic School recently won high honors at the All State Honor Band Competition.
Jacob St. Pierre, son of Leroy St. Pierre and Erin St. Pierre, received First Chair Trombone honors in Concert Band. St. Pierre is currently a freshman member of the Rummel Band.
Antonio Suarez, son of Juan and Jennifer Suarez, received Third Chair Trumpet honors in Orchestra. Suarez is currently a sophomore member of the Brother Martin band.
Both boys will participate in a concert in Baton Rouge.
J.R. Miller, the band director at SJA, said this about his former students’ honors, “For a freshman and sophomore to get such high honors at the state level competition against juniors and seniors is amazing.”
