Martha Schuetz Clement, 83, died peacefully at her home on Monday, Nov. 4, 2013. She was born Nov. 16, 1929, in Nuremberg, Germany.
She was the beloved wife of the late Lawrence “L. J.” Clement, daughter of the late Heinrich and Marie Schuetz, sister of Helmuth Schuetz, Werner Schuetz of Nuremberg, Friederike (Rickie) Lee and the late Mary Ann Bothwells and Erika Dresel and sister-in-law of Faye Marse (Kenneth) and Marian Prudhomme (Warren). She also had many nieces, nephews and friends.
She came to America in 1955 to marry L.J., who she met after World War II. She loved flowers, and she worked at a local florist. She and L.J. owned and operated Clement’s Grocery for many years until they retired. She loved to travel and cook. She had a special place in her heart for children and her pets.
Visitation and services were held at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in LaPlace on Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2013, followed by burial in St. John Memorial Gardens Cemetery in La Place. In lieu
of flowers, the family prefers donations to
the charity of your choice. Arrangements were by Millet-Guidry Funeral Home of LaPlace.
