Hailey Boeckl, a fourth-grade student at St. Joan of Arc Catholic School, recently served as “Principal for the Day.” Her parents, Paul and Sandra, had the winning bid at the spring fair, earning Boeckl the privilege. She first exercised her authority by granting the students and staff a “jean day.” Her day as principal began with leading prayer and announcements over the intercom and participating in the Grandparents’ Club meeting. She read to the preschool classes and took some friends with her to an off-campus lunch. Supervising the counting of votes in the middle school Student Council election as well as a fire drill filled the afternoon. Her day ended with making final announcements and leading afternoon prayer. Posing for a picture are (left to right) Principal Larry Bourgeois and Boeckl.
