LAPLACE – St. John the Baptist Parish School District Superintendent Kevin George met recently with members of the Louisiana legislature to discuss issues affecting the school district.
Sen. Gary Smith, Sen. Troy Brown and Rep. Greg Miller sat down with the superintendent to discuss the implementation of Common Core State Standards, Compass and the status of Hurricane Isaac recovery in the school district.
George said the legislators asked for his input about Common Core and Compass and pledged their support for the district in its recovery efforts.
“They wanted to be sure that all the state agencies involved – GOHSEP, the legislative auditor – were working with us
and that any other support we need we let them know,” George said.
