Trio of youth arrests

LAPLACE – The St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office recently arrested three juveniles who were allegedly involved two separate golf-related burglaries.
Deputies responded to Riverlands Golf and Country Club on Friday, July 26, to address a report of two male subjects near the maintenance shed. According to reports, the maintenance shop had been burglarized several times earlier in the week. One juvenile was detained initially, while the second juvenile was apprehended after a brief foot chase.
The juveniles, ages 10 and 11, were arrested and booked with simple burglary, simple criminal damage to property and criminal trespassing. Both were released to the custody of a parent.
On Tuesday, July 30, deputies responded to a residence in the 2200 block of West Canterbury Drive in LaPlace for the report of a stolen golf cart, charger, and golf clubs. The complainant contacted offcials the next day, saying the golf cart was located in the backyard of a residence down the street. Detectives obtained a search warrant and recovered the golf cart and charger.
A 16-year-old boy from the residence was detained and booked with simple burglary, simple criminal damage to property and possession of stolen things. He was transferred to the Assumption Parish Juvenile Detention Center.
