LAPLACE – A young Reserve man turned up in the emergency room of an area hospital with a non-fatal gunshot over the weekend, and detectives at the
St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office suspect that it may be linked to a report of gunshots filed shortly before.
On Saturday night, deputies at the St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office were notified by
River Parishes Hospital personnel that a
patient had walked in the emergency room with a gunshot wound to the left shoulder.
The victim was a 20-year-old man
from Reserve. His injury was non-life threatening.
Just 10 minutes prior to this call, deputies responded to a report of gunshots in the Apricot Street area of LaPlace. When they arrived on the scene, they did not see any suspicious activity. Detectives are currently investigating both cases.
