LAPLACE – On Friday morning the Kenner Poiice Department responded to a shooting outside Performance Automotive, located at 2416 Connecticut Ave. in Kenner. It was there
Kenner Police discovered the body of Shane Vicknair, 27, of River Ridge.
Investigating detectives learned that Vicknair was involved in an argument with a black male driving a blue Chevrolet pickup truck.
Hours after the murder, the driver of the pickup, identified as Roger Batiste, 75, of 122 Batiste Lane in LaPlace, contacted the Kenner Police Department through his attorney and surrendered himself at the Kenner Police Department. The gun allegedly used during the shooting was also relinquished by the Batiste’s attorney. Batiste has been charged with the crime of second-degree murder. The motive appears to have been a verbal argument that escalated.
