LAPLACE – Based on information received during the investigation, St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office Detectives arrested Lorenzo Porter, 28, of LaPlace on Wednesday in connection with the murder of Jamond James, 22, of Reserve on Saturday night.

Porter was booked with second-degree murder, possession of a firearm by a felon, a bench warrant and an attachment. His bond is $271,562.90.
