Josie “Nan” DeMarco, 82, passed away on Sunday, March 17, 2013. She was a lifelong resident of Reserve and was preceded in death by her parents, Anthony and Virginia DiPasquale of Italy; her sisters, Stella Cortez, Mamie Cashio and Rosalie Zappula; and her brothers, Russell DeMarco and Anthony DeMarco Jr.

Josie retired from the Reserve Telephone Company after 23 years of employment, and later became a devoted caregiver to the late Mrs. Richard Becnel, the late Mr. and Mrs. Albert T. Becnel and the late Beatrice Maurin.

She is survived by her two brothers, Sal S. DeMarco of Bartlesville, Okla. and Joseph DeMarco of Sacramento, Calif. She was a second mother to her nephews and nieces: Nicholas Cashio Jr. (Cathy), Darryl Cashio, Corliss Klibert and Mary Punch (Michael). She will be missed by her numerous family members as well as the many friends that she loved dearly.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend services. Visitation will take place at St. Peter Catholic Church in Reserve on Thursday, March 21, 2013 from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. Mass will follow at 11 a.m. Burial will take place in St. Peter Cemetary in Reserve. Arrangements will be handled by Millet-Guidry Funeral Home in LaPlace.
