Man OK after shot in head in LaPlace

LAPLACE – Another shooting occurred in St. John the Baptist Parish on Sunday. The victim, who was shot in the head, was still conscious and alert when officers arrived on the scene.
St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the report of a shooting in the 200 block of Joe Parquet Circle in LaPlace.
The officers found the 26-year-old male victim alive and alert, holding a towel to the wound on his head. He was transported to a New Orleans-area hospital for treatment. No one else was injured. The victim told investigators he was on the front porch of an apartment when he heard a loud bang and felt pain in his head. He ran in the apartment and told others what happened, and they called 911.
