DICHARRY

Ralph J. Dicharry, a lifelong resident of Lutcher, passed away peacefully Saturday, Feb. 16, 2013. He was 76 years old and retired from Chemtura (formerly
Uniroyal Chemical) in Geismar.
Ralph has now been reunited with his wife of 54 years, Shirley Oubre Dicharry, in heaven, destined to spend the rest of eternity looking over all of us. Ralph has been a long-time member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church where he served as a Eucharistic Minister and on other parish committees. Ralph had a very strong faith and was a loving husband, dad, brother, grandfather (Pops), and uncle. His grandkids called him Pops, and his kids called him Dad, but his family and friends really knew him as a mentor and most of all a buddy. Later in life, God dealt him a bad hand of cards, and somehow with his personality, strength and infectious smile and laugh, he still managed to pull off a winning hand.
Ralph was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Oubre Dicharry; parents: Benjamin and Felicia Dicharry; his brothers: Allen, B.J., Gerald, Lloyd, Donald and Carey; and his sisters: Marjorie, Geraldine, Dorothy, Merlyn and Florence. Ralph is survived by, as he would have called them, his wonderful kids: Angela Ruple, Ralph Dicharry Jr., Sherry Vanderslice, Brent Dicharry, Keith Dicharry, David Ruple, Gizelle Dicharry, Peter Vanderslice and Theresa Dicharry. Ralph is also survived by his 11 grandchildren: Dusten, Chris, Josh, Jena, Chase, Ethan, Holly, Kieran, Olivia, Sadie and Zachary. He is also survived by his sister, Elaine Tramonte, and a brother, Roy Dicharry, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Ralph will be sorely missed by his family, friends and many others whom he brought a smile to on a daily basis.
