Juvenile arrested for LaPlace burglary

LAPLACE – St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the 1800 block of North Sugar Ridge Road in LaPlace on Tuesday, Jan. 29, after the burglar alarm at a residence was triggered.
The deputies investigated the call and found the residence to be secure, but noticed a young male subject peeking around the corner of a residence on San Francisco Road. When they approached the juvenile to investigate his suspicious behavior,
deputies noticed a window screen on the ground. Deputies found a game system and prayer rosary in the backpack that the juvenile was carrying. The items found
in the backpack were later identified by the homeowner.
The 12-year-old boy was arrested and booked with simple burglary of an immovable structure and released to his mother.
