DHS Student of the Year

Dillion Hutson was announced Destrehan High School “Student of the Year.”
Hutson is the son of Mark and Sherri Hutson. His father is currently the tight end coach for the Oakland Raiders. Hutson’s accomplishments are numerous. He is a member of the DHS Film Crew, where he serves as the assistant video coordinator, secretary of the national Honor Society, an AP and honor scholar student at DHS, Mu Alpha Theta and the Varsity Quiz Bowl captain for the last three years. He is a member of the Kick-Off Mentor team, where he helps to mentor freshmen.
Hutson is also a member of the DHS Cross Country team. He is a student media specialist for DHS, where he designs graphical templates for school clubs, organizations and sports teams. In addition, Hutson was the recipient and first place winner of the “Louisiana Letters about Literature” Award and placed third in the state Literary Rally in Biology.
Recently, Hutson was named Cox’s “Scholar of the Week” and is a “Senior Salute.” He has been a part of the DHS school musicals “Grease” and “Chicago.” To date, he has accumulated 13 hours of college credit, and currently carries a 4.0 GPA.
