The caller advised 911 operators that a 32-year-old male was unresponsive and bleeding from the mouth at his residence. He told operators that he had picked up the subject walking on side of Airline Highway in Reserve. The male subject was transported to River Parishes Hospital for treatment. After an examination, River Parishes Hospital staff advised the reporting deputy that the subject had sustained two skull fractures along with other injuries. He was transferred to a New Orleans area hospital for treatment. His current condition is unknown.
An investigation ensued when investigators learned of the injuries the victim had sustained. Over the course of the investigation, investigators learned that the victim and the caller, later identified as Kendall Thompson, 33, of 209 E. 14th St., were acquaintances and were together the prior evening. After a disagreement between the two men, Thompson punched the victim several times causing the injuries. Upon conclusion of a thorough investigation, detectives arrested and charged Thompson with second-degree battery.
