HAHNVILLE – The longtime human resources and public affairs director for Valero St. Charles Refinery was arrested Thursday after St. Charles Parish detectives say they found child pornography on his home computer.

James Ronald Guillory, 57, of 205 Lac Cypriere Drive, Luling, was booked on eight counts of pornography involving juveniles and three counts of obstruction of justice, said Capt. Pat Yoes, spokesman for the St. Charles Sheriff’s Office. Guillory is being held at the Nelson Coleman Correctional Facility in Hahnville without bond until a hearing can be held.

Yoes said undercover investigators from multiple law enforcement agencies determined that between January and March of 2011, Guillory allegedly downloaded and electronically shared child pornography on his home computer.

On May 17, the Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant at Guillory’s residence in which deputies seized two desktop computers and one laptop, all belonging to Guillory. Yoes said a forensic examination of the computers uncovered known images of child pornography on the laptop.

Yoes said prior to the issuing of the search warrant, Guillory observed investigators outside his home and questioned why they were there. On that same day, it was determined Guillory attempted to use a program known as “Evidence Eliminator,” which destroys evidence from a computer’s hard drive.

Guillory is best known as the spokesperson for Valero’s Norco refinery, but he is also active in community affairs including involvement in the United Way of St. Charles.
