Baskin-Robbins in LaPlace held 31-cent scoop night Wednesday as part of an effort to raise money for firefighters in St. John the Baotist Parish. The idea behind the promotion is that those who buy the discounted ice-cream will donate the money they saved to the fire department. Each year, firefighters have interactive activities for the children who come to the event.
