Published 12:00 am Saturday, October 2, 2010

Vacherie – Saturday, Oct. 16. from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. and Sunday, Oct. 17. from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m., visit more than 150 booths of juried artists and crafters from throughout the United States. Coming from as far away as California, Missouri and Tennessee, to as close as Mississippi,

Florida, Texas, Alabama, Arkansas, and of course, local artisans from Louisiana. Oak Alley’s show prides itself in selecting crafters with the most unique items to sell.

More specifically, the items must be hand-

made by the exhibitor themselves, and the exhibitor must be on hand to talk about his craft during the show. “Secret Shoppers” roam the Festival to ensure that crafters are following the rules.

Some unique items such as garden and folk art, yard ornaments, tire swings, stained glass, Louisiana Mud Paintings, pen and ink drawings, watercolor prints, copper fountains, sculptured resin dolls, wind chimes, scented oils and candles, bird feeders, aromatherapy wraps, gourmet jellies and pickles will be on display for sale. And of course, we will have on hand original and handmade creations such as jewelry, furniture, clothing, home accessories, paintings, photography, pottery, wooden crafts and toys. There will also be unique gifts to give for Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas. And don’t forget, for all those sports fans we will have plenty of LSU and Saints memorabilia.
