The LaPlace Lions Club recently made a donation to the New Orleans Therapeutic Riding Center from proceeds made on the Krewe Du Monde Mardi Gras Ball and Parade in February. The check for $7,156 was presented by Lions President (right) Dr. Christy Montegut to Anita Hefler representing the Riding Center and will be used to purchase new equipment and help construct a barn to care for horses and other animals at the center. The Riding Center is located in LaPlace and provides therapeutic horseback riding for handicapped children in the River Parishes.
