LAPLACE – The Drew Brees/Blue Dog print being raffled by the St. John United Way has finally found its way to the parish and will be on display at various locations throughout the area until the drawing date of March 10.

This weekend it will be at San Francisco Plantation for the seventh annual Frisco Fest. After that, between Monday and Wednesday, it will be making appearances at the various locations where raffle tickets will be sold, including the P.D. Hebert Building in LaPlace.

Although United Way Executive Director Dean Torres said the board of directors still has not decided on the exact location where the drawing will be held, he suspects it will be at either the P.D. Hebert Building or at the Louisiana Federal Credit Union on Belle Terre Boulevard.

The print is 26 inches by 42 inches and is signed by both George Rodrigue, the artist who created the print, and Brees.

According to Torres, at its last appraisal the print was valued at $11,500.

Raffle tickets are $10 each, and Torres said all proceeds will stay in St. John the Baptist Parish.

To purchase a raffle ticket or for information on the exact location of the print, call 985-652-9118 or go by the United Way office at 1402 W. Airline Highway in LaPlace near Dot’s Diner.
