LULING — Over 4500 pounds of food and 700 toys were collected through the United Way of St. Charles annual Toy and Food Drive.
The Toy and Food Drive was held at the United Way office in Luling from Nov. 16 to Dec. 21. United Way of St. Charles has partnered with Catholic Charities, Second Harvest, Social Concerns and St. Charles Toy & Gift Fund to distribute these items to those in need this holiday season. The toys that were collected helped over 100 children have a happy holiday.
“I am proud of the generosity shown by the people of St. Charles Parish. With their help UWSC and our partner agencies were able to distribute toys and food to needy people in our community,” said Sara Miller, UWSC volunteer and event administrator. “I would like to offer special thanks to every company, organization, school and individual that participated in our drive this year. Acts of kindness, such as these, truly help make a positive impact in our community.”
