CONVENT — Twelve-month employees of the St. James Parish Schools will have 19 holidays following board approval of the 2009-1010 calendar Tuesday night.

Employees will take Monday, July 6, to observe Independence Day, then get Monday, Sept. 7, for Labor Day. A two-and-one-half month stretch will pass before the next holiday, on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, Nov. 25-27, for Thanksgiving.

Twelve-month employees will get seven days for Christmas and New Year’s — Thursday, Dec. 24, through Friday, Jan. 1. They will get another break on Monday, Jan. 18, for MLK Day.

Employees will also get three days for Mardi Gras — Feb. 15-17 — and a final three days on April 1-3.
