With a forecast of weather perfect for festivalgoers, organizers of the sixth annual “Frisco Fest” spring garden and craft festival are just about ready for this weekend’s activities.

Gates for the event will open at 9 a.m. on both Saturday and Sunday on the grounds of San Francisco Plantation, located on River Road (Hwy. 44) in Garyville. Tickets are $5 per person. Additionally, tickets for food and children’s activities may be purchased inside the festival gates and tours of the plantation home will be available at the discounted rate of $10.

This year’s festival includes more than 100 crafters and artists, delicious Cajun and Creole foods and live music by Geno Delafose & The French Rockin’ Boogie.

Other activities include Master Gardener clinics, a junior art expo and numerous activities for kids, including pony rides, a petting zoo, inflatables, rock climbing and bungee trampolines.

In addition to all of the activities on the grounds of the plantation, Frisco Fest includes the Tour De’ San Francisco Bike Race along scenic River Road, the Cruisin’ The Plantation Car Show, and Battle Of The Bands on Saturday.

On Sunday events include a 5k run, a 1-mile run, and the popular Chef’s Cook Off competition.
