DESTREHAN – DHS volleyball got a quick start in district with a sweep of East St. John in St. Charles Parish Thursday by scores of 25-19, 25-20 and 25-23.

Alexis Keller led Destrehan in the win, recording a dozen kills while Jessica Cimino kept the offense consistent with 23 assists and 15 digs.

Monique Briggs led the ESJ offense in the effort with six kills while Jolethia Myers posted 21 digs.

The win for DHS puts them at 6-9 on the season and 3-1 in district play. The loss puts ESJ at 4-15 for the season and 2-2 in district play.

Next up, East St. John stays in the River Parishes, traveling to Hahnville to face the top-ranked Lady Tigers Tuesday.

Also on Tuesday, Destrehan is set to play host to John Ehret.
