RESERVE – Riverside’s Lady Rebels have compiled a 7-1 record two weeks into the season after taking a tournament championship over the weekend before sweeping 5A Destrehan and Houma Christian on Tuesday.

The quick start is one of the Lady Rebels best ever.

Tuesday’s game at Riverside saw Destrehan heading down to Reserve and leaving with the loss in three straight games by scores of 25-21, 25-14 and 25-11.

The opening game was the most competitive of the three, with the teams trading volleys and sideouts up to a 21-20 score in the Lady Rebels favor. That brought senior Aimee Williamson to the server’s box where she sparked a run for the final four points.

eight and nine points. Led by Marci Millet, who recorded 14 kills overall, the Lady Rebels took advantage of a DHS offense that had a hard time putting pressure on the RA defense.

The final game was a runaway for the Riverside squad, who jumped ahead early on and never let up en route to a sweep of the larger school.
