Barracudas take win with 13,176.5 points

LAPLACE — Larayo’s Brandon Klibert and Meredith Keating led the Barracudas to their River Parish Swim League Championship last weekend, each posting 252 points in the meet with Klibert setting a pair of new records for the meet.

In the Boys 9-10 100 IM, Klibert swam a 1:13.19 to get his first record of the day before getting a 29.27 finish in the Boys 9-10 50 Freestyle.

Keating matched Klibert’s high point total to tie for the team high individual scores.

LaVacherie took second place overall in the meet with a point total of 7,173.5. Riverlands and Belle Terre took third and fourth respectively with 6,390 points and 5,711.5. Hill Heights came out in fifth place with 5,676, Houma scored 2,479.5 for sixth place, Sun Villa took seventh with 2,085 and Ellington scored 398 overall.

Houma’s Victoria Givens also set new records at the meet. Givens swam a 1:01.82 in the Girls 15-18 IM.

Standouts for Larayo also include Jordan Jensen with 232 points earned in the Boys 6 & Under category, Will East with 242 in the Boys 7 & 8, Luke Jackson with 242 in the Boys 11-12 and Ross Brignac, who got 235 points in the Boys 15-18.
