The Stingrays fell one spot from last year’s second place finish at the River Parish Swim League Invitational, this time taking third place after being nudged out by LaVacherie.
“Our team really stayed in contention for this one,” said Riverlands coach Carla Lambert. “We had a good showing this weekend and had a bunch of our kids step it up right when we needed it. We’re proud of them all.”
Riverlands had a good weekend at the meet, as a number of swimmers ranging from the youngest to some of their most experienced swimmers advanced through the preliminaries into the championship round on Sunday.
“We feel like we can get better for next year,” Lambert said. “We have enough youth to be good for, hopefully, years to come.
