Mary Clement goes the distance in first start on mound for SCC

LAPLACE – Hahnville’s Lady Tiger softball squad came into the St. Charles campus Thursday for a non-district game, and left with a victory after a low scoring affair, handing SCC their second loss this week in as many games.
Mary Clement moved over to the pitcher’s position for the first time in Thursday’s game and went a full seven innings giving up seven hits. HHS’s Chelsey Flores started and held the Lady Comets to two runs before being replaced by Erin Cantrelle. Those two came off of a line drive up the middle by Katie Tregre. But the Lady Tigers were able to get two runs of their own in the second inning, and followed that up with another point in the third to get the 3-2 win.
The loss wasn’t from a lack of offense from the SCC team. The Lady Comets stranded 12 runners on base throughout the game and were in scoring position in several different innings. Tregre led St. Charles from the batter’s box, going 2-for-2 with 2 RBIs while Addy Reine,
