RESERVE– Amongst a crowd of friends, family, coaches and school officials, five local athletes signed their letters of intent to play college football in a ceremony held Wednesday in East St. John High School Library.

Ricky Dixon, the All-Metro Offensive Player of the Year, officially inked his intent to play wide receiver for the Tigers, rejoining former East St. John quarterback and current redshirt freshman for LSU, Ryan Perrilloux.

&#8220Ricky has just been one of those phenomenal athletes,” said ESJ head football coach Larry Dautrieve. &#8220He’ll go catch some passes from Ryan hopefully.”

Wildcats defensive lineman Antoine Fisher signed with Arkansas Tech. Wide receiver Roy James signed to play for Jackson State. Wide receiver Louis Lee chose The University of Louisiana in Lafayette, and wide receiver Ryan Singleton will be playing for Alcorn State.

&#8220It’s been a great four years for these four,” said Dautrieve. &#8220Ryan is probably the biggest success story. He got his scholarship on what he did as a junior.”

&#8220These guys were part of my first freshman class when I got here. We’ve been through some wars together, all of us.”

&#8220They are great athletes in their own right,” added Dautrieve. &#8220These guys produce on Friday nights. These the guys are building blocks. These are guys that started off the program when I got here and I’m so proud of them.”
