LAFAYETTE– The Lady Rebels just couldn’t get on track against Episcopal in the first round of the playoff tournament at Comeaux High School in Lafayette on Thursday, falling in three straight games to finish off their post-season.
Riverside opened the match respectively by pushing Episcopal to a tight game. Remaining within striking distance, the Rebels tightened it up with runs of points, one coming on a serve by Jessica Price, who recorded two kills and an ace in the match-up.
But Episcopal steadily scored and opened up a six point lead by the end for a 25-19 win.
The second and third games found Riverside behind early and never reaching double digits until the end of the final game for scores of 25-8 and 25-11.
Ashley Heckathorn led statistically in the Riverside effort, recording three kills, two assists and 17 digs.
Marci Millet rounded out the leaders with a pair of kills, an assist and a block, along with four digs.
