LAPLACE – Calvin “Mike” Alexis Sr., 64, a native of Mt. Airy and a resident of LaPlace. He was the husband of Audrey M. Alexis.

He is survived by his mother Rebecca Alexis and his children Levenia, Calvin Jr., Timothy, Allegria and Janayya Alexis.

He is also survived by his siblings Darnell Alexis, Freddie Mae Jones, Gloria Mae Brown and Fredrick Alexis, 14 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father George Alexis Sr., his son Derrick Alexis and his brother George Alexis Jr.

Services were held June 9 at the New Wine Christian Fellowship, LaPlace, with interment in the St. John Memorial Gardens, LaPlace.

geraci

LAPLACE – Felix Geraci, 83, a native and resident of LaPlace, died June 1. He was the father of Kevin, Steven and Philip Geraci.

He is survived by his brothers Philip and Pasquale Geraci.

Services were held June 4 at the Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, with interment in the Lake Lawn Park Mausoleum.

LUTCHER – Shawanda Faye Lewis, 33, a native of Lutcher and a resident of Bakersfield, CA, died May 29. She was the daughter of Julia Louis.

She is survived by her children Tawanda, Derrick and Deshawn Lewis and Sam Dotie.

She is also survived by her siblings Keisha and Preston Lewis, aunts Mable Rixner, Margie Hansworth and Joyce Fluence and uncles Preston, Sam, George, Harry and Morris.

Services will be held today at 11 a.m. at the King David Baptist Church, Lutcher, with interment in the Golden Wreath Cemetery, Lutcher.

DES ALLEMANDS – August Paul Sr., 68, a native of St. Rose and a resident of Des Allemands, died June 5. He was the husband of Lillie Paul.

He is survived by his children Tania Joseph, August Paul Jr., Yvette Roberts and Derrick Paul.

He is also survived by his siblings Theresa Styles, Lawrence and Roland Paul and Augustine Griffin, 14 grandchildren and friend Barbara Eugene.

Services will be held today at noon at the Antioch Baptist Church, Des Allemands, with interment in the Shell Mound Cemetery, Des Allemands.

Robottom Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. Visitation begins at 10 a.m.

MT. AIRY – Kenneth James St. Pierre, 65, a native of Lutcher and a resident of Mt. Airy, died June 7. He was the husband of Joan Luminais St. Pierre.

He is survived by his children Kenneth (Shelia), Brad (Gena), Jason (Meredith) and Craig (Jodi) St. Pierre.

He is also survived by his stepchildren Lynn Louque, Susan Thompson, Randy Louque, Sharon Deroche, Sandra Louque and Philip Louque and brother Omer St. Pierre.

Services were held June 10 at the St. Hubert Catholic Church, Garyville, with interment in the St. Joseph Mausoleum, Paulina.

LIONS – Josephine Stein, 82, a native of Convent and a resident of Lions, died June 6. She was the daughter of the late Eluce and Archange Stein.

She is survived by her siblings Norris, Joseph, Paul, Nelson, Alvin, Marie, Mary Ann and Jeannette Stein and Ruby McClain.

She was preceded in death by her siblings Eluce Stein Jr., Lena Vicknair and Gladys Stein.

Services were held June 9 at the Millet-Guidry Funeral Home Chapel, LaPlace, with interment in the St. Peter Cemetery, Reserve.

LUCY – Catherine “Tee Cat” Williams, 68, a native and resident of Lucy, died June 4. She was the wife of the late Willie Williams.

She is survived by her daughter Cindy Williams.

She is also survived by her siblings Marguerite Baudy, Lola Lapeyrolerie, Roy and Raymond Pierre, guardian son Roy Pierre Jr., companion Kenneth Farnell and friend

VACHERIE – Elsie Elizabeth Hymel Zeringue, 80, a native of Vacherie and a resident of New Orleans, died June 4.

She was the wife of Noel Zeringue.

She is survived by her siblings Donald Hymel, Yolande H. Waguespack, Russell Hymel, Geraldine H. Becnel, Irma H. Marchadie, Rowean H. Labat, Huey Hymel, Faye H. Troxclair, Elaine H. Troxclair and Frances Porrier.

She is also survived by stepdaughter Andrea Zeringue, step-grandchildren Becky Matherne, Michelle Ayuso, Jeanne Oubre and Brock Zeringue and four step-great grandchildren.

Services were held on June 7 at the Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, with interment in the Lake Lawn Park Mausoleum.
